Retirement Gifts For Golfing Enthusiasts

There is a commonly held belief that golf is the exclusive realm of rich entrepreneurs and businessmen. It is also still perceived as an elite sport that is not easily accessible by regular blue collared employees. However, this is not really true any more as modernization and commercialization have brought these so-called posh sports into the reach of everyone.

This is because there is no necessity to buy expensive equipment to play a game, so, unlike big game fishing and polo which require very costly resources like a boat or a horse respectively, golfers only require a set of golf clubs, which are reasonably affordable. With this in mind, retirement gifts for golfers and aspiring golfers can be easily dreamed up.

Making personalized retirement gifts for golfing enthusiasts is really quite an easy task since you could easily personalize golfing equipment such as golf club pouches, and caddy covers. These can be knitted (that is if you are into knitting) or crafted using any other materials.

You could think about golfing fashion by concentrating on the attire worn by golfers. You could even end up starting a new trend in golfing clothing by the using your imagination regarding the design of the apparel for your retiree.

The most common method of getting a retirement gift for golfers is to go to the local sports shop and get your retiree something they sell there. It may sound a bit impersonal, but then this may prove really useful, if the retiree is still a novice golfer. Perhaps you could get a book on golfing, a subscription to a golfing magazine or a box of personalized golf balls.

However, you could find out what your retiree golfer still needs, and perhaps also use your imagination to think about what ways you could use to enhance the golfing equipment the retiree may already have.

Commercially made golfing equipment is always a safe bet. If you want to make your retiree feel great, buy him or her a famous-name set of golf clubs, thereby making him feel like a pro.

You could go to a joke shop and ask if they have any gags for the golfer there. They probably do, since golfing is such a popular game.

The gag gifts should be chosen quite carefully as it could be a sensitive matter for the retiree, especially those who are still novice players. Gags as gifts in relation to golfing might be taken the wrong way and hinder their progress if they are upset by the idea emphasized by the gag or joke given to them.

As for veteran players who are already well adapted to the game and other golfers’ sense of humour, the gift of a good gag on their retirement day would be quite funny as they would already see golfing not only as a way to relieve stress, but also to actually have some fun in a competitive environment.

Retirement gifts for golfers are just a simple way to make your golfer friend enjoy life after his career is over.

Ladies Golf Apparel And Fashion

I picked up one of those ‘Golfing for Women’ type magazines the other week and got to asking myself where these women actually live, who buy the golf attire shown in women’s golf magazines? I have never seen women, not even the pros, wearing such expensive and flamboyant clothes.

It’s so simple to spend tons of money fitting yourself out for the sport of golf. Think about hats, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, shorts, socks, windbreakers and shoes, and it is obvious that the costs add up very quickly, even if you do your shopping at cheap online sales. Then you have to add in the cost of clubs, balls, bag, cart and fees and you have to play a round of golf really quite frequently to keep the “CPU” (cost per use) down to a tolerable level.

One half-page advert showed a beautiful young ‘golfing lady’ in very tiny shorts (as if that’s allowed on golf courses!) that cost nearly $300, a golf shirt at almost $600, a jacket by Ralph Lauren at almost $200 and two-toned Utuser shoes costing $400 plus.

That comes to just about $1,500! I know that it would be impossible for me to get the CPU on that outfit down to anywhere near an acceptable limit in my entire golfing life! Please don’t misunderstand me – I do love clothes and I do really, really love shoes, but I could never afford, nor even want, golf shoes or pants that cost as much as most people’s weekly wages.

OK, you need comfortable golfing shoes that don’t look like a pair of clogs, but really, you can find less expensive and still a la mode golf shoes.

I have a couple of really stylish golf outfits, although none of them are famous brand names. If I added up the cost of all of those articles of clothing, it would not come to the price of a Tse golf shirt. Personally, I would rather have several trendy outfits than one that is priced over-the-top.

If I were to wear a $1,500 outfit to play golf, I would simply be too worried about getting it dirty or perspiring in it to play a proper round.

Basic Golfing Tips For Beginners: 1

Golfing has become phenomenally popular over the last 45 years, producing such world-class champions as Greg Norman, Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods. Some first-class courses too have become household names; think of Wentworth, St. Andrews, Augusta and Pinewood.

But why should golfing have become so poplar with the public? Surely, it must be because a round of golf is a leisurely, but nevertheless, active, outdoor pursuit with a competitive side that can be enjoyed with friends but that can never be mastered.

Your scorecard shows your progress, or lack of it, and this can spur you on to want to play again.

Here follows an elementary lesson for those who know nothing about golf.

Golf is played on an eighteen-hole course. Each hole has its own “par” (value), which is the combined number of tee shots (drives), fairway shots, chips (short hits as you approach the green), and putts (on the green) you should need to take.

The par number is based on the length and difficulty of the hole. Pars range from 3 to 6. If you get the ball in the hole in five shots on a par five hole, you “made par.” If it took you six shots, its called a bogie, if you made it in four, its a birdie.

All the holes on a golf course will have at least one ‘hazard’ to make the game more challenging and therefore more interesting. These hazards are usually: sand traps, trees and bodies of water, which are set up in such a way as to be obstructive. A beginner at golf should seek out a course which has fewer and less obstructive hazards so it is easier to play.

Players mark their own scorecard with the cumalative total of shots taken for each hole. After playing all the holes, the players add up their own scorecards and the one with the lowest score is the winner.

Please don’t take your score or your lack of skill to heart when you are a beginner golfer, because, although the professionals make it look simple, it takes many years to play the game well.

A good tip is to get the basics right from the start by taking a few lessons from the course ‘pro’, because then you will learn the correct posture and swing.

Golfing for Beginners: Part 3

The expression the ‘long game’ refers to your drives (shots off the tee) and fairway shots; everything short of the shots you make to get onto the green.

Because each hole has a different difficulty level, a different par and different hazards, advising you to use your driver every time on every tee would obviously be wrong.

But don’t worry about it. This is something that you will have to learn with experience as you learn the various types shot you need to make, which will vary according to the club, the placement of the ball and your own personal style of swing.

As a rule of thumb, the lower the number of the club, the longer and lower your ball will travel through the air. For example, a 4-iron will make the ball travel on a long and low trajectory and will most likely roll when it hits the ground, whereas a 9-iron will give the ball much more loft and it will go less distance both in the air and over the ground.

Don’t the professionals on the television make it look easy? They whack the ball long and straight time after time after time and never slice the ball sending it a sickly eight or nine feet or miss the ball altogether.

A very important part of the game is driving and if you spend many hours at the driving range you will see a big improvement in your distance shots. You should keep using the same club in the experiment to see what works for you if you move the ball forward or backward in your stance. And take a lesson or two from a pro, if possible to learn the proper swing from the beginning.

Mastering the long game will help you get to the green in fewer strokes, keeping your score and frustration levels down. Remember that it takes a long time to learn consistency and also remember that you’re supposed to be having fun! So go and enjoy yourself.

What You Should Keep in your Golfing Bag.

There are many golf bags available; some are designed for fashion, some for utility and some that combine both features. There are big bags, bigger bags and bags so big that they would keep everything I need for a long week-end vacation in one of the side pockets!

Generally speaking, you need a bag which is just large enough to hold your clubs, extra balls, your glove, tees, car keys, extra pencils, ball markers, a ball retriever, sunscreen, a windbreaker and a large umbrella.

It is also recommended that you carry in your bag: some tissue paper, sticking plasters and, whether necessary or not, some insect repellant.

A pack of baby-wipes comes in quite handy sometimes, especially if you’re feeling hot or you get sprayed with sand in the bunker – it can be just what you need!

Other things that could come in useful are certain drugs: for instance, antihistamine, if you are allergic to wasp stings or medication to counteract an illness like diabetes (if you suffer from it, that is). It is vital to remember to replace these medicines before their expiry date though.

Please remember to turn off your mobile phone before you put it away as a courtesy to the other players. No one is going to be best pleased to hear your phone go off just as he is about to take a shot. It is part of golfing etiquette too. If you must use it, walk away from the teams.

Knowing that you are prepared for most of the minor problems that can arise while you are out on the course will help you to enjoy your game. And the game is mostly about being relaxed. You are prepared for bee stings, ant bites, blisters and rain, so you can get on with your game safe in that knowledge!

Golf Vacation Packages

If you are looking for senior golf vacation packages where you can get golf lessons, a friendly game of golf or watch a PGA Tour, you could look on the Internet to see where the best places might be. You could travel to Arizona, Hawaii, Bermuda or Myrtle Beach.

You could enjoy some thrilling rounds of golf when you reserve a senior golf package that includes accommodation, airfare and a few days of golf. You will not only get pleasure from your golf, but the many attractions in the area as well. Vacation packages are great and when they involve golf at a very prestigious club, you will have an even better time.

Myrtle Beach has some of the most impressive golf vacation packages with diverse activities built into each one. You can play the Big Cat and even have a lesson or two from the former Senior Golf Tour player Gary Cowan. Gary Cowan was the winner of two majors and had eight appearances in other majors.

You may prefer the Big Cat package, the Fanatic golfer package or the four rounds and three-night package. The latter is for the true golfer. Four days of golf and only three-nights in the hotel is what you get with this vacation package.

In Maui, you can play one of the courses designed by Robert Trent Jones; enjoy a day in the warm sun and experience a golf course like you have never experienced before. You can stay at the Kaanapali Beach hotel and take the short walk to the golf course.

The two courses are a senior golfer’s delight. The South Course has an executive style, but with little difficulty whereas the North Course runs through the foothills and along the beach and is thought of as a challenging golf course. It is also home to the PGA Tour.

If you are searching for something out of the ordinary, you might like to try the senior golf vacation package to Bermuda. With nine golf courses spread out on twenty-one acres of land, you will find that this is one of the most extraordinary experiences of a lifetime. You can choose from fourteen hotels and resorts that offer senior golf vacation packages. With ocean all around, you will feel the warm breeze and smell the sea as you enjoy a great game of golf. Many vacation packages include at least one day of golf, but you can find holiday package deals with more days as well.

However, the story of senior golf vacation packages does not stop there. You could enjoy a trip to Arizona where you can find some of the foremost golfing schools. The golf courses in the area put on the PGA and the LPGA. The Scottsdale area is filled with many senior friendly golf courses that will interest even the accomplished golfer.

Not only do you have the game of golf, but some of the best leisure activity is on hand in the area as well. You can arrange a senior golf outing anywhere you can find a great package deal and professional lessons.

Choosing Golf Equipment

Purchasing golf clubs can be just like throwing your money into the sea, but fore-waned, you can save yourself plenty of time and money when you’re selecting your golf clubs. As in many cases, you can either spend a lot of money in one go or you can spend a little several times, before you get what you really want.

If you are just beginning and are not completely sure that you want to commit yourself to the addictive game of golf, you should either rent golf clubs at the clubhouse on the golf course, or purchase a beginner’s set of golf clubs.

Purchasing a set of beginner’s golf clubs enables you to become accustomed to them; enabling you to concentrate on your game instead of pondering how this odd set of golf clubs you just hired is going to work out.

After you become better acquainted with the game of golf, you should consider investing in a better set of clubs more suited to you.

Generally speaking, a set of golf clubs includes a driver, one or two fairway woods, irons numbered 4-9, one or two wedges and a putter.

As you become more experienced and start thinking about new clubs, you may want to consider purchasing your driver as a separate item. Some players want a driver to give them more accuracy, others need more distance.

There are numerous types of golf ball available and the golf ball box will often have a chart on the back to direct you to the right ball for your requirements. As you learn more about the game and get better at it, you should experiment with different balls which could improve your accuracy and/or your distance.

Having the right golf equipment is an important aspect of the game, so watch out and make your purchases wisely!

Are Nike Golf Shoes Any Good?

Nike golf shoes are one of the tools you can use to improve your game. If you have only played golf in casual footwear before, or if you’re looking for a way to improve your general game, investing in a good pair of golf shoes can make a large difference. Like in other sports, the shoes you wear can directly impact on your performance.

Since you have to develop a smooth swing and be able to follow through on that swing in golf, all without losing any control of the strength in your swing, your golf shoes can assist or spoil your game for you. Nike golf shoes are designed to help you balance, gripping the turf as much as necessary and allowing you to put full power and control behind each swing.

Since these golf shoes have special compartments in the heels, every step is easier to make. They offer the level of support your feet, legs and knees require in order to play golf very comfortably over long periods of time.

Because golf usually involves lots of walking, Nike golf shoes have been made as a hybrid of walking shoe and golf shoe. They cushion the joints of your legs and knees against impact with each step you take, allowing you to concentrate your strength and effort on your game of golf, rather than on how you are going to get to the next hole or to wherever your ball landed.

When you decide to buy Nike golf shoes, there are several things that you should bear in mind. The first thing you need to consider is your level of skill. Golf, like many other sports, has gear that can be used by beginners or advanced professionals alike, but it is better to differentiate.

In most cases, beginners pick Nike golf shoes made for professionals, but never end up getting the full potential of the shoe, since they are not certain how they can best be used.

While professionals can get great use out of these Nike golf shoes, it is often better for beginners to purchase an entry level golf shoe that would better suit their needs. The increase in power afforded to your stroke will often be lost on those who are amateurs, as they do not yet have the skill to control the stroke as they need to.

Therefore, it is best to buy Nike golf shoes that suit your skill level, as these shoes will have the comfort and functionality you need. You can purchase Nike golf shoes from a variety of sources. For those who want cheaper shoes and the same quality of professional shoes, you can buy last year’s shoes from Nike outlet centers.

If you want only top of the line golf shoes, you can buy from online Nike stockists or through a number of online retail outlets (see below).

Getting the Most from Golf Lessons

It is never easy asking for help, but in golf, it is practically a must-do. Unfortunately, we often ask our friends and partners, whereas in fact, we should be taking a lesson or two with a professional, usually called the Club Pro.

We probably think that a Pro would be too critical, but in fact, they are honest, positive and usually very helpful.

Golf lessons at the local golf course aren’t as expensive as you probably think and they are worth it too, since your game will get better more rapidly and cause you less frustration, making the game much more enjoyable for you.

It is of utmost importance to be absolutely honest about your game. The Pro will ask you what you want to learn: driving, chipping, putting or whatever you feel you need help with.

Listen carefully and follow the Pro’s instructions. You may have doubts if the Pro changes your stance, your grip or your swing, but really, the Pro does know best.

Please don’t hesitate to ask the Pro golfer any questions you may have and don’t worry about whether your question or concern may sound stupid – they’ve heard it all before and will not make you feel like a fool for asking. If you don’t understand, tell the Pro that you do not understand. You should never walk away from a lesson with unanswered questions.

For example, a course of lessons might be to concentrate on one thing during a lesson, or on several things. You might start with a lesson on driving; get the grip, the stance, the swing and the follow-through right in one lesson and then practice it ‘for real’ for a few weeks until you feel that you’ve got it more or less right. Next time, you might decide to work on your short game, or putting.

You’ve bought your set of golf clubs and it isn’t cheap, is it? So, it doesn’t make sense not to learn how to use it to it’s best advantage thereby improving your game and abilities, does it?

Appropriate Retirement Gifts For Golfers

There is a commonly-held belief that golf is the pastime and sport of entrepreneurs and businessmen. It also has the reputation of being exclusive and elite and not being available to ordinary blue collared workers. However, this is not really true, since modern technology and globalization have brought this so-called elite sport into the reach of normal people.

This is because you don’t need to get hold of sophisticated equipment to join in. Unlike big game fishing and polo which need a lot of resources – a boat or a horse respectively – golfers just require a set of golf clubs, which are reasonably affordable these days. Bearing this in mind, retirement gifts for golfers and aspiring ones are more easily thought of.

Personally made retirement gifts to personalize golfing equipment is quite simple since you could easily make it personal by embroidering such items as golf club pouches or caddy covers. These can be knitted, if you are a knitter or by any similar craft which may use other materials.

Another good idea is to think about the apparel fashion of golfing which means to look at the clothing worn by golfers. You may even be able to establish a new fashion in golfing apparel by using your imagination to create an interesting design.

Common gifts. The most usual way of buying a retirement gift for golfers is to go to the closest sports shop and get your retiree something sold there. It may sound a bit impersonal to give the retiree a commercially made gift, but then this may actually prove really useful, if the retiree is still a novice golfer – you might want to get him a set of golf clubs since it is the basic requirement to be able to play golf.

Furthermore, you may find some other accessories that your retiree golfer may still need but then perhaps you could also contribute your imagination on what things can be made to enhance the golfing equipment he may already have.

Commercially available golfing equipment is also useful, if you want to make your retiree feel good. You could give him a famous set of clubs, making him look like a pro.

Gags and Jokes The amusing part of deciding to give a gag present instead is the humour these items can invest. It also adds to the brighter side of the golf-playing retiree’s party and his friends will be able to take part in with smiles, laughs and jokey comments too.

The joke gift should be bought very carefully as the joke present may represent a sensitive matter for the retiree, especially if he is still a beginner. Joke gift for golfers may be misunderstood and hinder their golfing progress if they are disturbed by the idea emphasized by the gag gift you have given to them.

However, for more advanced golf players who are already acquainted with the way golfers think, the gift of a good joke gift on their retirement day would be quite amusing as they would already know golf not only as a method of relieving their stress and getting some decent exercise but of actually just having a laugh as well.

People ought to see retirement presents for golfers as merely a easy method of encouraging your golfer friend to appreciate the funny side of life after his career has ended.

Have a great time if you are going to or planning a Golfer’s Retirement Party, however if you want to get a better understanding of retirement, please go to our web site Retirement Planning. Get a totally unique version of this article from our article submission service
